Sant Josep

Sant Josep is a private center in Vilafranca del Penedès, owned by the Sant Josep Educational Foundation. It offers early childhood education, primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). The school focuses on several axes: emotional well-being, music, the STEAM field, a love for reading, traditions and territory, and multilingualism. The center uses Spanish, Catalan, and English, and has a library and laboratory.

In the early childhood education stage, the project follows the same pedagogical line and organization across all courses. Daily routines develop autonomy, security, and personal growth. The transition to the first course is facilitated by creating spaces and methodologies similar to those of local nursery schools, and new families receive support from the welcoming family figure, formed by more experienced families. The approach includes peer learning and active participation of students. The center dedicates five additional weekly hours to promote language use through storytelling and to increase the level of English from an early age, incorporating emotional education. It also works on emotional well-being with routines and sessions of yoga, relaxation, or meditation; experimentation through corners among different classes and learning environments; language literacy, with Catalan as the vehicular language; music; physical well-being and awareness towards swimming; attention to diversity in an inclusive environment; and the STEAM approach.

The center provides information about the pre-registration process and organizes open days. It has a digital magazine created by its own students and an online store for purchasing tracksuits and Chromebooks. Additionally, it promotes the use of Catalan through a participation initiative.
