Institut Vilafranca 2

Institut Vilafranca 2 is a public secondary education center located in Vilafranca del Penedès. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato. It develops a Globalized Work project and has the FAIG program, in addition to participating in the Erasmus+ program. It has an AFA (Parents' Association) and uses digital platforms such as Clickedu, Google Classroom, and Drive. Among its facilities is a gym, and teaching is conducted in Spanish and Catalan.

Throughout the school year, 1st ESO students work on a STEM project focused on ecological footprint, which includes outings to the Vilafranca environment to conduct statistical studies on recycling, as well as visits to scientific facilities. The center also organizes an orienteering race designed by the 1st ESO students and open to the entire community, and its students participate in the El Gust per la Lectura contest. Additionally, it offers a professional skills accreditation procedure aimed at people with work experience or training without official qualifications.

The educational community of the center has publicly made various claims regarding public education, including the need for resources for diversity support, support professionals, a welcome classroom, and suitable buildings and spaces for students, such as playgrounds, a gym, and an events room. There is also a call to reduce bureaucratic burden, ensure democracy in schools, and stabilize staff.
