Escola Dolors Piera

Escola Dolors Piera is a public school in Vilafranca del Penedès that provides early childhood and primary education. It offers a reception service, school meals with a menu, extracurricular activities, and school transport. It has a Parents' Association (AFA). In terms of languages, instruction is conducted in Catalan and Spanish.

The center develops restorative practices to promote coexistence. In the middle cycle, the assembly and restorative circle encourage dialogue, listening, and group cohesion, and conflicts are addressed in an educational and peaceful manner, promoting responsibility and respect. In the upper cycle, restorative circles are held weekly as a space for dialogue and listening, contributing to a good classroom climate and strengthening relationships among students. Additionally, the SIEI supports inclusive education by providing universal resources to address the diversity of all students; through tools like the traffic light and emotional thermometer, it helps children identify and manage their emotions autonomously and assertively.

In early childhood education, students enjoy a weekly library space where they listen to stories and discover tales with the mascot Lola; afterwards, they can freely choose and share books, an activity that fosters a love for reading, active listening, and respect for books and silence. In I5, a recycling workshop was conducted based on a puppet story, and throughout the week, recycling continued with activities in the classroom. In fifth grade, the EvaLudens project has been launched, a hands-on proposal that reinforces oral skills and the use of Catalan through music and oral tradition. The center also celebrates the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace with joint activities and attendance at a theater performance at the Auditori Municipal de Vilafranca, which invites reflection on the importance of peace. Furthermore, it organizes Carnival, which in 2026 has the theme of the marine environment, with activities throughout the week and daily slogans.
