Escola Pau Casals

Escola Pau Casals is a public school in Viladecans that offers Early Childhood Education, with the first cycle (0-3 years) and the second cycle (3-6 years), and Primary Education (6-12 years). It has a library, sports hall, cafeteria, and school garden, and provides school transport and extracurricular activities. The teaching is conducted in Catalan, Spanish, and English. The school is named after the musician Pau Casals, and its website highlights his role as a defender of peace and education.

The educational project includes several lines of work: the Plurilingual Generation (GEP) and an English Project, a school entrepreneurship project, the use of chess and robotics for mathematical reasoning, emotional education, and multiple intelligences. The school also develops a Smart Classroom Project and family projects. Among the activities for upper cycle students are the creation of podcasts, which work on oral expression, digital competence, and information search.

Since 2007, the school has had a green school project, which includes an environmental committee, the Pau Casals gardens, a project on noise pollution, and the collection of used oil. Throughout the school year, festivities such as Castaween and Halloween English Day, the winter concert, Carnival, spring dances, Sant Jordi with the Jocs Florals, the Pau Casals Olympic, and a solidarity race in which the school has acted as an ambassador for Save the Children since 2016 are celebrated. Outings, camps, and a community dinner are also organized, as well as training for mothers and fathers. The school has its own weather station.
