Escola Can Palmer

Escola Can Palmer is a public center for early childhood and primary education located in Viladecans. It provides early childhood education (first and second cycle) and primary education, with Spanish and Catalan as languages. It has a school cafeteria service and a family association (AFA). Its project is summarized in the idea that all students are important.

The center has a SIEI, where the autonomy of children in their basic needs, such as feeding, hygiene, dressing, or mobility, is systematically worked on. Recently, work has begun with TEACCH methodology in the autonomous corner with some early childhood students. The primary students of the SIEI participate once a week in a music therapy session with the music specialist, where attention, communication, coordination, and expression are worked on through play, movement, and manipulation of materials.

Among the activities carried out are artistic projects inspired by artists such as Sonia Delaunay and Piet Mondrian, as well as the Ara Art project; knowledge of plants and spring, with the creation of "cespins"; symbolic play to discover the body in early childhood; robotics and programming with Lego Spike in sixth grade, with the construction of a robot; and the cooking project "Els cuiners i les cuineres". There is also a school cooperative, Els Palmeritos, in which fifth-grade students participate. The center organizes outings such as a visit to a farm in Begues, a day of traditional games in Gavà with other schools in the area, and a trip to the theater to see a puppet show.
