About the school
The Adult Education Center "Gloria Fuertes" in Navalcarnero is a public center integrated into the EducaMadrid network and dependent on the Community of Madrid. Its offerings are aimed at adults and include Compulsory Secondary Education in the distance modality, with level I and level II; Basic Vocational Training; preparation for access tests to Higher Vocational Training cycles; preparation for university entrance exams for those over 25 years old, and Second Chance Programs, for which the Community of Madrid offers scholarships.
The center develops an Erasmus+ project that includes mobilities for both teachers, such as job shadowing stays in an adult center in Sundsvall, Sweden, and for students, with trips to Italy funded by the program. Additionally, it organizes each year a School Extension composed of activities open to the public, whether or not they are students of the center, articulated around a central theme that changes every year.
Among its own initiatives are the digital magazine El Garbanzo Verde, produced by the teaching staff and students of the center, and RadioGF, with audio episodes produced at the center itself. It also has an Operational Workshop and participates in meetings with entities and associations in the municipality on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in which it also collaborates with students from other educational centers in the locality.
