Pedro Duque

I.E.S. Pedro Duque is a public center in Leganés that provides compulsory secondary education (ESO), vocational training (FP) in Hairdressing, and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). In Bachillerato, it offers two modalities: Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences. Since 1996, it has been a preferred integration center for deaf students and maintains contact with the specific auditory disability team of the Community of Madrid. Since the 2019-20 academic year, it has been a bilingual center in English, and in the 2022/2023 academic year, the program covers all four years of ESO.

The educational community advocates tolerance as a guiding principle, allowing for different opinions and ideas that coexist in mutual respect. The center is committed to various educational projects: it is a STEAM center, places special importance on ICT and emotional development, and is open to all schools, whether bilingual or not. Additionally, it seeks to reinforce basic values for the formation of future citizens.

Regarding facilities and services, it has extensive facilities that are continuously being renovated, covering 23,000 m² with two buildings, gardens with diverse trees, and sports facilities. It has a library, laboratories, computer rooms, technology workshops, language classrooms, and a school garden. It offers a cafeteria and extracurricular activities and has incorporated educational and psychological support for students.
