Manuel Rodriguez Sales

The Manuel Rodríguez Sales Professional Music Conservatory is a public institution in Leganés dedicated to music education. Its origins date back to 1972 when it was created as a municipal music school promoted by Manuel Rodríguez Sales, a Valencian musician settled in the area. In 1982, it obtained official recognition to provide elementary level education. Under the initial name of Pablo Casals Municipal Music School, the City Council promoted its transformation into a conservatory during the 1980s, and in 2013, the Community of Madrid authorized the implementation of professional music education, at which point it was established as a professional conservatory.

The center presents itself as a pioneering institution, being the first music school in the Community of Madrid, and in February 2022, it celebrated its 50th anniversary with a commemorative event. The teachings are delivered in Spanish, and the center actively maintains its admission and access processes for both the conservatory and the music school.
