Gonzalo De Berceo

The C.E.I.P. Gonzalo de Berceo is a public center in Leganés that provides Early Childhood Education, with the first cycle (0-3) and second cycle (3-6), as well as Primary Education (6-12). It offers a cafeteria service, providing information regarding scholarships, and extracurricular activities. Among its facilities, it has a gym and hallways, which are used for workshops and activities, such as the Christmas decorations made by the students.

The center works on Education for Sustainable Development with a comprehensive approach and the methodology of the seven steps of Eco-schools, which has earned it the recognition of the green flag. In this line, it celebrates Leganés Ecoday, in which the entire school participates. Among its initiatives, third-grade students create the podcast "El Berceo Cuenta," with sections such as interviews, and the center organizes swimming for first and second-grade students. Throughout the year, the Book Day, Autism Day, with activities such as the visit of an assistance dog from the Kune Association, and Peace Day are celebrated, in addition to a solidarity race in favor of childhood leukemia research. Training on sun protection for students is also conducted.

The AMPA participates in the life of the center, for example, in the Autumn Market, held with families and Early Childhood Education students. The center schedules open house days and activities during the Week of Persons with Disabilities, and commemorated its 50th anniversary with a start-of-year party.
