About the school

El Colegio El Salvador is an educational center in Leganés (Madrid) established as a Cooperative Society of Associated Work and created in 1978 by a group of teachers. It offers second cycle Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education, all under a concerted regime with the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid. It has services such as a cafeteria and features a library, computer room, and gymnasium, in addition to teaching in Spanish and English.

In the 2015-2016 school year, the center implemented its own project in the English language and enhancement of mathematics. In Primary Education, the curricular hours of English were increased, and Arts & Crafts teaching was incorporated in that language, so that students take one hour of English daily. In Secondary Education, the 1st and 3rd year of E.S.O. classes now have four hours of English per week, and in the first year of E.S.O., the math workload was increased to one hour daily. In the fourth year of E.S.O., different pathways are offered that combine Mathematics A or B with scientific, humanities, or technological options.

The center complements its offerings with extracurricular activities such as reinforcement and extension, fencing, English, multi-sport, multiple intelligences, guitar, choir, programming, and robotics, as well as a psychopedagogical office and activities in the afternoons of June and September.
