El Jardí

El Jardí is a private preschool in Esplugues de Llobregat. It provides the first cycle of Early Childhood Education (0-3 years) and supports the growth of children by addressing their physiological, emotional, relational, and discovery needs. The center was founded over thirty years ago by its founder, Antonia Lucas, with the intention of offering a serene environment based on affection and trust, where little ones can grow happily. It has been authorized since its inception by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Department of Education) and complies with pedagogical, health, and architectural regulations.

Its facilities are designed for the well-being of children, with differentiated spaces that adapt to each age to promote movement and development. It has outdoor gardens and a playground that is used daily. This playtime encourages socialization, creativity, affection, and empathy, as well as allowing children to move, run, jump, or chase each other. It offers a dining service and has bus and tram stops nearby.

The pedagogical project revolves around autonomy, safety, and self-concept, respect for individuality, social skills, and emotional management. Autonomy is fostered through everyday actions such as going to the bathroom alone, washing hands, or pulling up pants, which awaken the desire to learn and feel grown-up; the teaching staff accompanies with affection, involvement, help, and respect, and conveys security. How the child sees themselves in relation to their environment is considered key to their learning and future. It is based on the belief that all children are "good," each with their own character and differences, so their individuality is respected, and they are taught to relate to others with respect. Social skills and emotional management are also developed to relate with kindness, respect, empathy, and assertiveness, and to understand both positive and negative emotions and learn to manage them. Learning occurs through play: eating, dressing, playing, talking, running, listening, hygiene habits, and social skills are essential parts of growth.
