Villalar

CEIP Villalar is a public educational center in Coslada that offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (from 3 to 6 years old) and the stage of Primary Education (from 6 to 12 years old), the latter being compulsory and free. In Primary Education, the aim is to strengthen personal development and the well-being of students, as well as to acquire basic cultural skills in oral expression and comprehension, reading, writing, and calculation, and to develop social skills, work and study habits, artistic sense, creativity, and affection.

The educational project of the center is based on personalized teaching aimed at comprehensive training in knowledge, skills, and attitudes that favor the full development of the students' personality. The methodology is active, with student participation in the teaching and learning processes. The center promotes habits of democratic behavior and respect for the rights and freedoms of others, equality of rights between genders, respect for all cultures, and rejection of any type of discrimination, as well as respect for and defense of the environment. It also promotes the acquisition of habits and work techniques that allow students to investigate and learn by themselves. The development of these principles requires the participation and collaboration of families.

In the Early Childhood Education stage, the center works on projects, a methodology that relates school learning to reality and favors the common construction of knowledge through collaborative learning, the exchange of ideas and opinions, the increase of social and communication skills, and the development of problem-solving ability. This approach allows for connecting different areas of knowledge and offering learning situations in all spaces and schedules, integrating readings, counts, stories, writings, and artistic proposals.
