Manuel De Falla

IES Manuel de Falla is a public secondary school in Coslada that offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). Among its projects linked to English, the school conducts external language tests in 4th year of ESO accredited by Cambridge English Certification.

The institute develops an eTwinning project each year with the idea of exchanging activities with partner European schools and conducting student exchanges. In the 2025-2026 school year, the project is "Bridging Views: Understanding EU", in which students from Italy, Croatia, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Spain have participated. All participating schools are part of the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) program, and the work has focused on the functioning of the European Union, the values that underpin it, and its democratic processes, as well as on developing skills to distinguish truthful information from fake news. Activities have included student presentations on a collaborative Padlet wall, creating videos to distinguish real facts from myths with cultural context, creating political parties with names, logos, slogans, and electoral programs, and an interactive quiz on media literacy. The schools also shared their celebrations of Europe Day and their participation in the contest "What Europe Means to Me".

Previous projects at the school include titles such as "A window to the world", "Welcome to our world", "A Journey around Europe", "Citizens of the world", "SecurITy: the Power of Knowledge", "Mind your waste/waist", "Through your eyes", "Healthy Life", and "EUducation Matters". The school also participates in the BG-MUN project, a Model United Nations organized by IES Beatriz Galindo, held in Madrid during March, which includes a welcome event for students from other countries.
