About the school

Sagrada Familia School in Burgos, part of SAFA, is a privately owned institution founded in 1965 by the Brothers of the Sacred Family. It is part of a network of seven centers dedicated to teaching and education, integrated into the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Family, whose work is oriented towards Christian education and the human and social promotion of students. The school enrolls students from 1 year to 18, covering the stages of early childhood education (1-6 years), Primary (6-12 years), compulsory secondary education (ESO) (12-16 years), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), with the modalities of Science and Technology and Social Sciences and Humanities. It defines itself as a family-centered institution, with a model that addresses the personal, social, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions of the student.

Its pedagogical approach places the student at the center of learning and employs active methodologies, with project work and respect for different learning rhythms. In early childhood education, cognitive, social, physical, emotional, and religious areas are also worked on; in Primary, values such as respect, solidarity, tolerance, and responsibility are emphasized, with group or individual support and reinforcement; in compulsory secondary education (ESO), basic competencies are consolidated and autonomy is encouraged, with tutoring and guidance. The center develops a process of pedagogical renewal and applies the Ruler Method from early childhood education to Bachillerato to work on emotional intelligence. As a bilingual center, it offers English from early childhood education and French starting from 5th grade of Primary. It also offers the Dual Bachillerato, a program that allows students to obtain both the Spanish Bachillerato diploma and the American High School Diploma simultaneously.

The school is located in the Gamonal neighborhood in Burgos and has various pavilions and school areas organized by age, a sports complex, a playground exclusively for early childhood education, laboratories, a youth center, a library, an auditorium, and its own kitchen with a dining room.
