Tagore

Tagore is a private early childhood education center located in the Barcelona district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. With over fifty years of experience since its founding in 1966, it has been dedicated to teaching the youngest children. Originally, it occupied a traditional two-story tower in the Sant Gervasi neighborhood, but it currently features two spacious and bright connected floors, an extensive outdoor garden in the center of the block, and a commercial space with direct access from the outside.

The center caters to children from 4 months to 3 years old (P0, P1, and P2), supporting them in their growth to gradually acquire autonomy and self-confidence, always in close collaboration with families. It also offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years). The teaching team, with extensive experience and specialized training, addresses playful, emotional, and intellectual dimensions to promote balanced and comprehensive development. The learning of three languages is encouraged: Catalan, Spanish, and English. Updated teaching methods are employed for these ages, including experimentation and manipulation with various techniques, and imagination and motor skills are stimulated through activities such as drawing, music, dance, and group games, among others typical of early childhood.

The educational project of the center aims to enhance cognitive, developmental, emotional, and social growth in a warm, family-like, and trusting environment, which are essential elements for the formation of the child's personality. The active methodology they apply respects individualities and attends to the diversity of the student body. It is organized around a monthly theme of interest and various educational projects that are developed throughout the course. Significant learning is prioritized, starting from the students' previous experiences to build new knowledge useful for their future lives. Aware that each child is unique, they apply the theory of multiple intelligences to provide individualized attention adapted to the early educational stage. The center has a library, dining room, playground, and extracurricular activities.
