Escola Lys is a semi-private educational center with a single educational line, located in the Putxet i el Farró neighborhood of Barcelona. It is a cooperative of mothers and fathers of social initiative, non-profit, open to all families and students, and transparent. With more than 60 years of experience, it is a Catalan and secular school, close and deeply rooted in its environment.
The center offers the stages of Petit Lys (0-3 years), Early Childhood Education (3-6 years), and Primary Education (6-12 years). For secondary education and high school, students can continue their training at Escola Els Arcs and CIC, respectively, centers that share the school's values.
The educational project of Escola Lys is based on comprehensive education grounded in respect, knowledge, cooperation, and trust. Active learning and pedagogical innovation place the student as the protagonist of their own process, fostering autonomy, curiosity, and entrepreneurship. Values such as responsibility, empathy, critical thinking, and solidarity are promoted, as well as emotional and social education. The school offers services such as a library, cafeteria, playground, school transport, early risers program, extended hours, and extracurricular activities. The languages offered are Spanish, English, and Catalan. Additionally, the environment is used as a learning space: students from I4 and I5 engage weekly in psychomotricity and nature observation at Parc Putxet, and the upper cycle uses the kitchen and event room of the Vil·la Urània civic center, of which the school is a founding entity.
