Mafalda

Escola Infantil Mafalda is an authorized center by the Departament d'Ensenyament de la Generalitat de Catalunya that caters to children from 4 months to 6 years old. Its offerings are organized into age groups of 0 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 3 to 6 years. In the 0 to 3 years stage, it operates as a private school and from 3 to 6 years as a semi-private school. Upon completing 6 years, the center maintains an affiliation with Escola Pia de Sarrià, ensuring continuity in Primary education, and provides a bus service that facilitates transportation to that center.

The educational project is continuously updated and is based on neuroscience, the Reggio Emilia approach, and the Culture of Thinking from Harvard's Project Zero. It has drawn inspiration from figures such as Montessori, Malaguzzi, Doman, Gardner, Perkins, Ritchhart, and Ken Robinson to construct its own methodology. The center follows the VESS philosophy, has trained with Edu1st, is part of the network of schools associated with UNESCO, and has adopted a Zero-Waste philosophy in its daily actions.

During the day, a daily physical program is developed in the garden, and motor opportunities are offered, along with music with a specialist. Daily interactions occur in Catalan, Spanish, and English, with an English specialist who interacts with the children in an immersive manner. The classrooms are designed as small laboratories focused on scientific play and discovery, and proposals for robotics, programming, and computational language are made within the framework of the Código Escuela 4.0 program. Art and the relationship between family and school are also worked on, with family participation in some classroom activities. Services include a cafeteria, extracurricular activities, reception, psychopedagogical service, and casals, and the center has a garden among its spaces.
