Escola La Caixa

Escola La Caixa is a public center located in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona, offering the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years) and Primary Education (6-12 years). The working languages include Spanish and Catalan. The center has an AFA (parents' association) and a midday space that includes a school cafeteria. It has a School Council, an organ in which families, teaching staff, the city council, and administrative and service personnel participate.

The educational project is defined as an inclusive school and participates in Erasmus+, in science projects, and in the PCMat initiative, which integrates computational thinking with mathematics in fifth and sixth grades. It also has a conversation assistant for activities in English and celebrates English Day. Throughout the school year, it organizes activities such as the Floral Games, the Christmas concert, and European exchanges; it has hosted international visits, including that of the École élémentaire publique Jean Rostand de Riom (France) and meetings with centers from Poland, Greece, and Italy. As part of its 70th anniversary, it has promoted the creation of murals in the playground. Additionally, it participates in Escoles + Sostenibles, with workshops on beach and water care, and has presented a project for the adaptation of its auditorium within participatory budgets. Students engage in activities such as studying bacteria with a biologist from Inibsa laboratories, creating a model of the solar system in second grade, or observing the nesting of pigeons in a window of the center.
