Escola Pau Casals-Gràcia

Escola Pau Casals-Gràcia is a public school located in Barcelona, in the Gràcia district, that has been operating since 1975. It offers the second cycle of early childhood education (3-6 years) and primary education, with initial, intermediate, and upper cycles. The working languages include Spanish and Catalan, and among the areas addressed are English and music. The school also supports students in the transition to secondary education.

Its educational project articulates various lines of work: the library as a pedagogical tool, with reading mentorship and other dynamization activities; its own digital strategy; the linguistic project; the coexistence project; environmental improvement projects; a playground transformation project; theater, and cooperative work. It has its own facilities and a school council, and publishes a school magazine, La veu del Pauka, created with the participation of all students in its different sections.

In fifth grade, activities such as the "1,2,3 action" space are developed, dedicated to body expression and experimentation with different elements; a computational thinking space where students build and program prototypes with the LEGO SPIKE robot to solve challenges, linking technology, logic, creativity, and problem-solving; and research projects on the subject, with experiments on homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures and methods to separate them. Students in this grade have also visited the Museu Picasso.
