Ciudad De Parla

CEIP Ciudad de Parla is a public school inaugurated in 1977 and located in the south of Parla, in district no. 4. It offers Early Childhood Education (second cycle) and Primary Education. Since 2000, it has had a school cafeteria and the program Los Primeros del Cole, and it has an Integration Program and compensatory classroom. Its facilities are spread across three buildings (Infant, Primary, and Gym) among which extends a playground with two sports courts.

The center is located in an area that has changed in recent years, with single-family homes next to apartment buildings and blocks of social housing, where immigrant families from different countries and cultures have settled. Currently, its closest environment consists of newly built homes inhabited by young families. For schooling purposes, the area belongs to district no. 4 (South zone), where there are six public schools for Early Childhood and Primary Education and three Secondary Education institutes. As a result of these characteristics, the center welcomes students from different social strata and cultures.

Its educational project is structured around quality education for all students regardless of their conditions, equity and equality of opportunities, educational inclusion and non-discrimination, with special attention to issues arising from disabilities. It includes the transmission of values such as responsibility, solidarity, tolerance, equality, respect, and justice; the conception of education as lifelong learning; flexibility to adapt to the diversity of students; educational guidance; individual and shared effort between teachers and families; prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts and school mediation; effective equality between men and women; recognition of the teaching role; and preventive measures to educate in coexistence. The center has also developed the castle project, with which the Early Childhood Education building was decorated.
