IES Narcís Monturiol is a public secondary school located in the northern area of Parla, in the Community of Madrid. It began its journey in 1985 as a vocational training center and is currently a bilingual center. Its name pays tribute to Narcís Monturiol, an engineer, intellectual, inventor, and politician of the 19th century known as a pioneer of submarine navigation and designer of the Ictíneo, a boat with which he sailed completely submerged.
