Escuela Artaban

Escuela Artabán is a private Waldorf education center located in the Sierra Noroeste of the Community of Madrid. It is defined as an integrative center that welcomes children of different abilities, talents, and disabilities, attending to each according to their needs. Its educational proposal seeks a balance between intellect, artistic sensitivity, and will, respecting the developmental rhythms of each student and fostering autonomy, creativity, and social skills through coexistence and respect. Teaching is supported by experiential learning and the bond with a reference adult, integrating art and movement while avoiding early digitalization.

The center offers Early Childhood Education (second cycle), Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, and Special Education, the latter with individualized support for students with diversity in their cognitive development, including the adolescent stage. It presents itself as the only Waldorf center in Spain with Special Education in the adolescent stage. It maintains educational continuity by keeping relationships with nearby Waldorf early childhood schools and Waldorf secondary and high schools, so that tutors meet with teachers from the previous and subsequent stages to support transitions between stages.

Among its services and facilities, it has a library, dining room, school garden, and extracurricular activities open to students, families, and the community. The life of the center includes quarterly parties, musical auditions, and theatrical performances, and the working languages are Spanish and English.
