Institut Quercus

Institut Quercus is a public educational center located in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato, with instruction in Spanish, Catalan, English, and German. It is affiliated with the Xarxa Telemàtica Educativa de Catalunya (XTEC) and uses digital platforms such as Moodle and iEduca for academic management and learning. The center also has vacancies for vocational training cycles and training and insertion programs (PFI).

Students participate in the Cangur Mathematics Tests and in the Community Service, within which 3rd ESO students have taken part in the project "Posem-hi el cor" by Althaia. Bachillerato students prepare research projects, collected in the book of research works of Bachillerato students from Bages and Moianès, and conduct a mock university entrance exam (PAAU) at UManresa. The center also joins the UPC's project Dona el mòbil a la ciència.

Throughout the school year, outings and activities outside the classroom are organized, such as visits to the salt mine and the castle of Cardona, the Egyptian museum in Barcelona, the mathematics museum, or to Argelers, in addition to the end-of-stage trip for 4th ESO to Cantabria, a catamaran outing in Lloret de Mar, and visits to Portaventura. Graduation ceremonies for 4th ESO and 2nd Bachillerato are also held, and the center collaborates with the Sant Joan de Vilatorrada City Council in celebrating the Sant Jordi day. As a pilot test, a night study classroom was launched during the June exam period, located in the CMFPA.
