Escola Joan Maragall

Escola Joan Maragall is a public center in Ripoll that provides early childhood and primary education. Teaching is organized into early childhood and the initial, middle, and upper cycles of primary, and is conducted in Spanish and Catalan. The center offers a cafeteria service and extracurricular activities, and has a family association.

Its origins date back to 1920, although it was not until November 1936 that it began its educational activity. Throughout the school year, the center develops several projects: the school garden, in which fourth-grade students participate with the support of a foundation; the Enfauna't project, about the local fauna, in which schools from the Pyrenees collaborate; and the Riberes de l'Alt Ter project, with guided outings to the Ter River led by environmental educators. It also maintains a school radio, La Veu del Maragall, and participates in joint initiatives with other schools in Ripoll, such as the Consistori Infantil and the activity of the Catalan sayings on the wall. Its motto is 'Learning at the school that learns.'
