About the school

La Casa de Niños y Niñas Pilocha is a public educational center in Parla that welcomes children from the first cycle of Early Childhood Education, aged 1 to 3 years. Its educational project is directed at both the students and the adults responsible for their education, with the aim of coordinating and unifying the shared educational work between families and educators. The center proposes that its actions transcend the municipality, raising awareness among its inhabitants about the needs and rights of children. The vehicular language is Spanish.

The center develops complementary work to that of families, providing experiences that favor the development of children. Its educational principles include education as a right for all children, without social, ideological, psychological, or physical discrimination, compensating for inequalities and integrating differences, and contributing to physical, sensory, intellectual, emotional, and social development. Attention is given to movement and body control habits, forms of communication and language, coexistence patterns and social relationships, and the discovery of the environment, facilitating that children develop a positive self-image and acquire personal autonomy. The educational process is open to the needs of the area and participates in the life of the environment. All of this is included in the Educational Project of the center and is specified in its Pedagogical Proposal.

The center develops the Biblioarte project, which aims to promote artistic expression and the habit and taste for reading. In the first term, each child creates a work of art using different plastic techniques; in January, it is exchanged for a story provided by the family, and the stories are destined for a center library with loans to families. The educational team proposes organizational and operational rules of an educational nature that are mandatory for the educational community. The schedule is from 9:00 to 13:00, with 15 minutes of flexibility for entry and exit, and the school calendar is set by the Community of Madrid for each course. The collection of children corresponds to the father or mother, unless designated in writing.
