CEIP LA CALZADA

CEIP La Calzada is a public school located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria that offers Early Childhood Education and Primary Education. Its offerings are structured through plans and projects organized in the INNOVAS Network, addressing linguistic competence, with a library and school radio; STEAM areas of science, technology, engineering, creativity, and mathematics; health promotion and emotional education; as well as environmental education and sustainability. The school has creative spaces and a sensory classroom.

Throughout the school year, complementary activities are developed such as school outings, including to the Livestock Fair and to the Plaza de Santo Domingo on the occasion of the Day of the Canary Islands, and workshops on Canarian gastronomy where recipes like pella de gofio, almogrote, mojo, and potaje de berros are prepared. The celebration of the Day of the Canary Islands includes workshops on chácaras, basket weaving, pottery, and Canarian wrestling, as well as a workshop on Canarian clothing. The school has a school garden, where students plant in honor of World Environment Day, and promotes fruit consumption among students. The educational community is organized around the AMPA and the School Council.
