Villaamil

La Casa de Niños Villamil is a public center in Móstoles dedicated to the first cycle of Early Childhood Education. It welcomes children of this stage and develops an educational project that also involves families and educators, in order to coordinate shared educational efforts. Its work complements that of families in care and education, offering experiences that promote comprehensive development.

The center opens from September to July, 11 months a year, with hours from 9:00 to 13:00. Schooling is free and entry and exit times are flexible: doors open at 9:00 and close at 9:30, and exits are made between 12:45 and 13:00. A healthy breakfast program is included in the daily schedule: mid-morning, before going out to the playground, children have a snack in the classroom with fruits that vary throughout the week. It has a school garden and a playground. There is nearby public transport (bus and metro).

The Early Attention Team of Móstoles collaborates with the center to assist children and families in need and to guide the educational team. Its functions include the prevention of learning difficulties, detection, evaluation, and direct support to students with special educational needs, advice on the organization and planning of work in the center and in the classroom, and guidance to families on aspects of development and education at these ages. Additionally, the management and the Early Attention Team organize meetings and discussion talks with families on parenting topics, which take place at the center. In the admission process, the center is defined as Casa de Niños, with its own application separate from the Infant Schools.
