Velazquez

IES Velázquez is a public educational center located in Móstoles, in the Community of Madrid. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) for ages 12-16 and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16-18), with Spanish and English as the languages present in its activities. It provides extracurricular activities and has bus and metro stops nearby.

The center has an AMPA, which provides its members with reading books in Spanish from its bibliographic collection at no cost, organizes extracurricular activities in collaboration with the institute, manages discounts at academies and collaborating companies, and includes representation of mothers and fathers in the School Council.

Its website, hosted on the EducaMadrid platform, serves as a bulletin board and includes links of interest such as email, virtual classroom, Roble/Raíces, departments, and activity calendar. Among the published contents are the faculty at the beginning of the school year, the meeting for families of new students, scholarships for post-compulsory levels, the calendar of pending tasks, the open house day, admission criteria for new students, and the final grades record of the management project in the selection process of directors. Additionally, the center participates in the anonymous mailbox of the Regional Drug Plan of the Community of Madrid.
