Freta

Freta is a semi-private educational institution recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya, with two campuses located in Calella and Mataró. Together, they have over 50 years of experience, a faculty of more than 150 teachers and professors, and over 1,800 students, with a promotion rate of 97%. Each campus has its own intranet, facilitating communication between the school and families.

The school offers Early Childhood Education (second cycle, 3-6 years), Primary Education (6-12 years), and Compulsory Secondary Education (12-16 years). In ESO, which consists of four courses, attention is given to the acquisition of basic competencies, the detection and treatment of learning difficulties, educational tutoring and guidance, and the relationship with families. The educational project includes a multilingual project, a program for diversity support, interdisciplinary work, individualized tutorial follow-up, and sports in the school context. Subjects include Catalan language and literature, Spanish language and literature, foreign language, mathematics, natural sciences, technology, social sciences, geography and history, visual and plastic education, music, education for citizenship and human rights, physical education, religion or alternative activities, ethical-civic education, and tutoring. Throughout the first three courses, a synthesis work is carried out, and in the fourth course, a team research project is conducted, in addition to three specific elective subjects among which biology and geology, visual and plastic education, physics and chemistry, Latin, music, French, and technology are offered. An English project, computer science, and French are also taught as subjects.

The school offers cafeteria service, school transportation, and extracurricular activities. The school schedule is from 8:30 to 13:00 and from 14:30 to 17:00 from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays it ends at 13:00. The school fee is 203.30 euros per month from September to June, and the occasional cafeteria service costs 12.70 euros. The academic calendar follows that established by the Department of Education.
