Escola Maria-Mercè Marçal

Escola Maria-Mercè Marçal is a public institution located in Mataró. It offers the second cycle of early childhood education, primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), using Spanish and Catalan as working languages. It provides a school cafeteria service and extracurricular activities. Early childhood education is organized into the cycles of petits, mitjans, and grans, and the center also has a summer camp during the month of June.

The center has a parent association (AFA) that manages various complementary services and is supported by the digital environment EDC. It organizes open house days to inform families about its operations. Among its facilities are a gym and a school garden, which are managed by the green delegates and the students.

Throughout the school year, activities such as the Children's Council, theatrical performances, cantatas, research projects, and outings and camps at different levels are developed. Students participate in sports events, such as school swimming and ultimate frisbee, and the center participates in the Josep Puig i Cadafalch competition for schools, where it has won second prize.
