About the school

Colegio Santa Gema Galgani is a bilingual semi-private school in Madrid inspired by humanist values, aiming to educate each student to find meaning in their life and be capable of facing change. Its proposal covers ages from 0 to Bachillerato, including Santa Gemita (1 and 2 years), Early Childhood Education (3 to 5 years), Primary Education, Secondary Education, and Bachillerato.

At Santa Gemita, autonomy is encouraged from the earliest years, with early stimulation, emotional management, project-based learning, sensory workshops, and play facilities, psychomotor development through neuromotor activities, swimming from the age of two, native English-speaking assistants, and music. In Early Childhood Education, the work is based on respecting learning rhythms and is supported by play, observation, and experimentation, with project-based learning, corner work, manipulative mathematics, and meaningful literacy experiences, alongside emotional-affective development and bilingual learning. In Primary Education, emphasis is placed on essential competencies such as curiosity, logical and critical thinking, problem-solving, oral and written expression, and reading, through interdisciplinary projects in Spanish and English.

In Secondary Education, the Personal Student Plan guarantees individualized follow-up — with individual tutoring interviews in 1st and 2nd year of ESO and greater autonomy in 3rd and 4th year — and a Learning Diary; the Guidance Department supports students and guides them towards higher studies and the professional world, as well as promoting the School of Families. In Bachillerato, each student has an individual mentor and conducts a Research Project (TDI). The educational project is structured around values such as commitment, teamwork, spirituality, respect, and emotional education, with families as allies. The center offers classes in Spanish and English and has a cafeteria, school transport, early morning care, extended hours, and extracurricular activities, as well as 10,000 m² of sports and swimming facilities, a library, a sports hall, a football field, an athletics track, a laboratory, a computer room, an auditorium, a school garden, a chapel, a gym, a playground, and a children's park.
