Centro Bobath España

Centro Bobath, driven by the Bobath Foundation, serves individuals with cerebral palsy through a set of educational, therapeutic, and daytime care services. Its school is a special education institution and is semi-private with the Education Department of the Comunidad de Madrid; it enrolls students with cerebral palsy from ages 3 to 21. It also has an Early Attention Center aimed at children from 0 to 6 years old with neurological disorders affecting movement, posture, and the sensory system, and a Day Center for individuals over 18 years old, where an interdisciplinary team continues the treatment program that they followed before reaching adulthood.

All its actions are developed under the Bobath Concept, an approach to assessment and treatment that understands that neurological injury compromises the entirety of the child and is applied by an interdisciplinary team. This team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, teachers, assistants, and TIC coordination. In the Early Attention Center, it offers a continuous stay modality from 9 to 15 hours, where children receive their treatments following a personalized plan. It also provides training in the Bobath Concept to its team professionals and through introductory and basic courses, and offers private treatments. Among its services and facilities are a cafeteria, school transportation, extracurricular activities, and extended hours with a morning service.

As part of its educational programs, the center promotes an online store with handmade products created by individuals with cerebral palsy and managed by them, with profits fully allocated to this group. It has also developed the Bobath Foundation Scale, a specific assessment tool for children and adolescents with cerebral palsy.
