Escola Damià Mateu

Escola Damià Mateu is a public center in Llinars del Vallès that offers early childhood and primary education. Its own educational project organizes the life of the center, where Catalan and Spanish are present as working languages. The center has a school cafeteria service and the participation of the Parents' Association (AFA) in various activities and celebrations.

Throughout the school year, students participate in scientific and technological projects. The center takes part in Robotseny, a regional robot competition, and in the Montquímic science fair, initiatives that aim to develop scientific and creative skills through cooperative work. In the literary field, the center publishes reading recommendations by cycles on the occasion of Sant Jordi, and its middle and upper cycle students can enter the children's short story contest in Catalan organized by the Can Casas library, where teachers from the center also participate as part of the jury.

Among its own initiatives, the Rodacat project stands out, a logo created to promote the use of Catalan in the school that proposes a word each week and encourages discussion about its meaning and use. The center also celebrates festivities such as Castanyada, with autumn crafts, traditional dances, and chestnuts, and organizes informative days, such as the Araki Day, dedicated to childhood and sexual education, with talks and a meeting space for families.
