Escola Gabriel Castella I Raich

Escola Gabriel Castella i Raich is a public educational center in Igualada that provides early childhood and primary education. Students are organized into groups called petits, mitjans, and grans. English is taught orally and experientially in the early levels, through play, songs, and listening to stories.

The center participates in eTwinning projects with students from second and fourth grade. eTwinning is a European initiative that promotes collaboration between schools from different countries, cultural exchange, the use of foreign languages, and cooperative work through shared activities.

Among its spaces and initiatives, the school library stands out, where enigmas have been launched for all students with the aim of combining reading, curiosity, and play, and which features a reading mascot created from the students' imagination. It also has a bibliopati and reading trees, where primary students register the books they finish. Additionally, it promotes traveling suitcases that invite sharing reading moments at home, and an audiovisual workshop. The center develops a project on the origin of food purchased at the market, which includes outings and related musical activities. Students also go on outings such as a visit to the CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, linked to work on energies, or to the theater. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
