La Escuela Infantil María is a private center in Getafe authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid. It is presented as one of the first nursery schools opened in the municipality that continues to operate, with more than forty years of activity, and maintains the objective of meeting the goals set by the Ministry for early childhood education.

Its own educational project, Mimarte, is structured around art understood in a broad sense: painting, sculpture, architecture, and music are used as stimuli for the development of students' abilities, referencing works such as Azul II by Joan Miró, The Starry Night and The Cow Lying Down by Van Gogh, Girls at the Sea by Sorolla, or David by Michelangelo. The methodology is playful, based on meaningful learning, globalized, individualized, and socialized, with play as the central element along with puppet theater and storytelling. Among the center's priorities are addressing the physical-biological, cognitive, and emotional needs of children; promoting knowledge of the body and control of movements; relationships with others and habits of coexistence; observation and exploration of the natural, family, and social environment; development of oral language and plastic, musical, and bodily expression; mathematical logic; formation of habits of autonomy, responsibility, and work; and the introduction of the English language. Additionally, transversal teachings such as moral, traffic, environmental, health, peace, and equality of opportunities education are incorporated.

The center has renovated facilities, with an outdoor playground divided by age groups and classrooms with large windows that seek natural light and adequate ventilation, as well as its own kitchen. Its educational team is made up of early childhood education teachers and specialized senior technicians, and has worked together for more than twenty years. The school has AENOR certification in accordance with the UNE 172402:2011 standard for nursery schools, which certifies compliance with quality and safety requirements in facilities and in pedagogical and administrative management. It also provides information about scholarships from the Community of Madrid for students enrolled in the first cycle of early childhood education in authorized private centers not funded with public funds.
