Matematico Puig Adam

IES Matemático Puig Adam is a public school in Getafe. It was the first institute created in the locality and began its journey in the 1968-1969 academic year as a Mixed National Institute of Secondary Education. In 1978 it was renamed I.B. Matemático Puig Adam, in honor of the mathematician, and adopted its current name of IES Matemático Puig Adam in the 1995-1996 academic year, with the entry into force of the LOGSE. The former San Isidro Public School was incorporated into the institute and has since housed the classrooms for 1st and 2nd year of compulsory secondary education (ESO).

Its educational offer includes compulsory secondary education (ESO), daytime and evening Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), and vocational training (FP) in Computer Science. In ESO, the Curriculum Diversification Program and specific project subjects are offered in 3rd and 4th year within the elective catalog, with two hours per week: scientific innovation project, audiovisual and plastic culture project, and musical project. The daytime Bachillerato offers the modalities of Science and Technology, Social Sciences, and General Bachillerato. The center has been providing evening classes since 1985, and since 1990, this shift has been dedicated solely to Bachillerato; currently, it is offered in a semi-presential format for adults, with the modalities of Humanities-Social Sciences and Sciences-Technology, combining face-to-face sessions and digital work, with freedom of subject choice and individual tutoring. Since the 2020-2021 academic year, training in Web Application Development of Higher Degree Vocational Training has been offered, and in the Computer Science FP family, the Multiplatform Application Development cycle is also available.

The facilities are spread across two buildings and include a study room, library, computer rooms, auditorium, gym, outdoor and indoor sports fields, Natural Sciences laboratory, Physics and Chemistry laboratory, technology classroom, and technology computer classroom, as well as a school garden. The center develops activities such as the Refuerzo Plan, PROA+ Plan, IPAFD, and study trips.
