Escola Bressol Municipal Colobrers

The Escola Bressol Municipal Colobrers is a first cycle early childhood education center, owned by the municipal government of Castellar del Vallès and jointly managed with Suara Cooperativa. It welcomes children from four months to three years old and their families. Its project is based on the integral development of the child through play and experimentation in a motivating environment of freedom and autonomy. It is a space for relationships and emotional bonds between children, families, the educational team, and the municipality, with a family-like and welcoming atmosphere, rich spaces and materials that allow the child to be the protagonist of their own development. It is organized into classrooms by age (under one year, one to two years, and two to three years), according to the current ratio of the Department of Education of the Generalitat. It has a psychopedagogical office.

The educational team considers the child a person of the same nature as the adult, unique and unrepeatable. They believe in a competent child, with the ability to build and expand knowledge in a context rich in meanings and relationships. The child explores the world with all their senses; they need to act, play, and explore based on their interests and needs, in friendly environments. The team listens to them, respects their pace, and supports them in gaining confidence, surrounding them with well-being and beauty. They create a welcoming, friendly, and healthy environment, rich in challenges and possibilities, for the child to discover for themselves, solve problems, and develop creativity through emotional relationships. The family is part of the child's structure, and their educational task is supported by the social and cultural environment of the municipality. The relationship with families is the foundation of the work, with constant communication and dialogue, and their participation in projects and daily activities.

The school is a space for socialization where children establish new relationships with other children and adults, expand bonds, and acquire basic coexistence guidelines. Everyone is part of the educational community and works together for child development. Professionals help discover the world through play, fostering emotional bonds and learning. The bressol schools of Suara Cooperativa practice respectful, positive parenting with values, seeking the well-being of the child.
