Daoiz Y Velarde

CEIP Daoiz y Velarde is a public Early Childhood and Primary Education center in Alcobendas. It offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education and the Primary stage, with Spanish and English as working languages. Among its facilities, it has a library and a Music classroom, and provides services such as a cafeteria, school transportation, early morning care, extended hours, and extracurricular activities.

Throughout the school year, the center organizes various activities. On the occasion of International Music Day, students from third to sixth grade of Primary perform a concert in the Music classroom, attended by the Early Childhood students, and the center has also hosted magic and music shows for all students, partially funded by the AMPA through municipal grants. Fifth-grade students participate in the Community of Madrid's Storytelling and Poetry Recitation Contest. Additionally, celebrations such as Carnival and Christmas take place, and the center is part of the Community of Madrid's Drug Prevention Plan.

During the admission process, the center holds open house days. Primary textbooks are distributed between those included in the ACCEDE Program — only the activity book for English — and those that students must purchase. The center also provides information about school cafeteria scholarships, school breakfast assistance, and scholarships and aid for students with specific educational support needs.
