Institut D'alcarràs

Institut D'alcarràs is a public secondary school in Alcarràs that offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). Teaching is conducted in Catalan and Spanish, and students also take French as a subject, with projects focused on inventions and scientific advances, democratic values, and creative proposals for written expression.

Throughout the year, the school promotes activities such as the Reading Club, the literary contest, and the Sant Jordi reading marathon, in addition to workshops and talks. Students participate in Erasmus+ projects with international mobility, and cultural outings to Barcelona are organized, including the literary route of Don Quixote and a visit to the National Library of Catalonia. In collaboration with the Catalan Ornithology Institute, first-year ESO groups take part in the Orenetes and Ocells de Jardí projects, observing and recording swallow nests and local birds. The school has also hosted a visit from the Ilerkan association, dedicated to animal-assisted interventions.

Among its facilities, it has a gym, which is the venue for the start-of-year ceremony. For academic tracking, digital platforms such as Moodle and Alexia are used, along with tools from the XTEC. At the end of the stage, second-year Bachillerato students receive their graduation photo in a ceremony with families and teachers.
