Arquitecto Pedro Gumiel

I.E.S. Arquitecto Pedro Gumiel is a public secondary education center located in Alcalá de Henares, in the Community of Madrid. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) (ages 12-16) and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16-18), with Spanish and English among its languages. It has a psychopedagogical office, cafeteria service, and a morning class schedule. Its Educational Project defines the identity of the institute, as well as its objectives and organizational and functional structure.

Throughout the school year, students participate in exchanges within the Erasmus+ program, such as the one developed with students from Kaarst (Germany) in 4th year of ESO, and in end-of-year trips to destinations like Tarragona or Cangas de Onís, in Asturias. Students also take part in competitions and academic olympiads, including the Madrid Economics Olympiad, the National Grammar Olympiad, the Nanoscientifics in 60 Seconds contest, and the National Radio School Podcast Contest. The center also administers the diagnostic assessments for 2nd and 4th year of ESO from the Community of Madrid, which evaluate linguistic communication competence in Spanish and English, mathematical competence, and social and civic competence. Nearby the center, there are bus and commuter train stops.
