Complutense

IES Complutense is a public secondary education institute located in Alcalá de Henares. It offers Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Baccalaureate, incorporating the Spanish curriculum along with international programs. Specifically, it offers the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate; the latter is aimed at students aged 16 to 19. Additionally, it has a bilingual Spanish-English program and a German Language Section, allowing students to study in Spanish, English, and German. Among its facilities are a library and a laboratory.

The center also offers Semi-Presential Baccalaureate for Adults, a modality regulated by the Community of Madrid for this stage. It is based on self-learning and uses a flexible and open methodology, adapted to the capacities, needs, and interests of the students. It combines direct teaching with non-presential activities and relies on a virtual platform for monitoring and assessing learning. The subject offerings are distributed over two courses, allowing students to enroll at their own pace. The tutorial action allows for reviewing task results and establishing correction guidelines. Classes are held in the afternoon, from 16:00 to 21:40, and subjects are organized into mandatory in-person tutorials and non-presential tutorials with tasks on the virtual platform. Individualized attention between teacher and student is fundamental in this model.

Moreover, the institute has virtual classrooms and a guidance section with resources and documents of interest, as well as information directed at families. It publishes its educational project and other documents such as the coexistence plan, the action plan of the guidance department, the absenteeism prevention and control plan, the ICT work plan, the Inclusion plan, and the center's digital plan, among others. The center is located near bus stops.
