Frequently asked questions
CEIP 9 d’Octubre offers second cycle Early Childhood Education (3-6) and Primary Education (6-12). It is a public center.
It is located in Alacant/Alicante, in the Carolinas-Garbinet district, on the road axis that crosses the Carolinas Altas and C/ Pinoso.
It was built in 1932 as the first school center of the Republic in the neighborhood. It responded to the emergency after the fire of more than 16 schools and convents on May 11, 1931, which left around 1500 children in Alicante without a school.
The building was constructed by the Alicante architect Juan Vidal Ramos and was designed to accommodate 400 students.
At first, it did not have an official name; on November 29, 1932, it was given the name Gabriel Miró. After the war, it reopened as Víctor Pradera and in 1992 it received its current name, 9 d’Octubre.
