Los Puertos

EEI Los Puertos is a municipal early childhood education school located in Colmenar Viejo, integrated into the Public Network of Infant Schools. It opened its doors in 2004 and organizes its classrooms by age: two baby classrooms (Koala and Oso Panda), three classrooms for 1-2 years (Mono, Cebra, and León), and three classrooms for 2-3 years (Jirafa, Elefante, and Cocodrilo). Each classroom has a room with a circle area, food, play, and experimentation, and the baby classrooms also include a sleeping area with individual cribs. The center offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, a library, English, and a dining room, with extended hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Among its spaces, there is a multipurpose room, the largest in the center, with direct access to the 2-3 years playground, used for psychomotricity, heuristic play, black light workshops, music, parties, and theater, as well as for family assemblies. The library operates with weekly lending: every Friday families can take a book home, and during the school day, each group visits it with their tutors. The center has its own kitchen, where daily menus are prepared with natural products, supervised by specialists in child nutrition. Outside, there are two differentiated playgrounds, one for 1-2 years and another for 2-3, with sandboxes and swings, as well as a small garden where aromatic herbs and vegetables are planted.

The regular team consists of eight tutor educators, six support educators, and one director, with six of the fourteen educators being specialists in English Language; it is complemented by two cooks, two cleaning staff, and one maintenance person. The school participates in European projects: it has developed several Comenius projects and coordinates the Erasmus+ project '1,2,3 PLAY MATH WITH ME' alongside five schools from Poland, Slovenia, Romania, and Turkey. It organizes open house days for new families as part of its admission process. The center has nearby bus stops and the Colmenar Viejo Cercanías station.
