Institut Verdaguer

INS Verdaguer is a public secondary school in Barcelona, located near Parc de la Ciutadella. It offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) for students aged 12 to 16, and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). Spanish and Catalan are the languages present at the school.

The school has a library, cafeteria service, and extracurricular activities, and it has a parent association (AFA). In the digital realm, it uses Google Classroom and Moodle, as well as Dinantia as a communication tool. In ESO, it develops a textbook recycling program, so that materials for this stage are provided to students on the first day of class. The school library operates as a space with its own blog, where information about its organization, services, and reading promotion activities and initiatives is shared.

Throughout the school year, students participate in activities such as the Proves Cangur, a mathematics championship; a robotics project in 2nd ESO, focused on the functioning of sensors, actuators, and controllers; a storytelling writing project in French class; a trip to Somorrostro beach to practice beach rugby in 4th ESO, as a closure of the didactic unit of this sport; a visit to the Centre de Regulació Genòmica; and the exhibition "Tenim disset anys" at the CCCB with first-year Bachillerato students.
