About the school

La Inmaculada Concepcion is a semi-private school in San Lorenzo de El Escorial that offers early childhood education, primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18). Its educational project is organized around four axes —identity, competence, commitment, and faith— and is inspired by the conceptionist ideology and Saint Carmen Sallés. In secondary education and Bachillerato, the school supports students during a key stage of their emotional development and works on skills such as initiative, responsibility, creativity, and cooperation, aiming for young people to find meaning in their lives and their vocation. It has a laboratory, and its departments combine tradition and innovation: lectures with cooperative work, flipped classroom, experiential learning, and critical thinking.

In the Spanish Language and Literature Department, one day a week is dedicated to reading and literary discussion, and outings are organized to see plays. The Mathematics Department focuses on logical-mathematical reasoning, the use of manipulatives and digital tools, and has its own materials, such as subject-specific websites for 4th year of ESO and 2nd year of Bachillerato, as well as a YouTube channel. The Science Department seeks to awaken students' curiosity and interest in the scientific method.

The school has a language enhancement program that allows for deeper learning without being a bilingual center. It is part of the BEDA program and has a native conversation assistant, weekly sessions in the language laboratory, preparation for Cambridge exams (KET, PET, FCE, and CAE) and the Institut Français (DELF B1), language immersions in England and France, a school exchange with the French city of San Quintín, summer stays in Ireland, and the possibility of taking the American Dual Bachillerato. It has also joined the project "Host an American."

Among its services are the cafeteria, with consultable menus, extracurricular activities, Conceptionist Summer activities, the intranet, photo galleries, and space rentals, as well as personalized visits for interested families. It has nearby bus stops and a Cercanías station.
