Escola Samuntada

Escola Samuntada is a public educational center, plural and creative-active in Sabadell. It offers Early Childhood Education (second cycle, from 3 to 6 years) and Primary Education (from 6 to 12 years). It provides a cafeteria service and library. The information corresponds to the 2026/2027 school year.

The center applies an active methodology and has a pedagogical leadership project that defines its model. A central element is the daily conversation space in the classroom, from P3 to 6th grade, to promote active listening, dialogue, oral expression, respect, and critical thinking. It also organizes a nature day each month in the surroundings of the Ripoll River for all levels. It has a remodeled school library, with an updated collection, open in the playgrounds and with weekly sessions for Primary; all classrooms have a library and reading space. The playgrounds are diversified, with activities such as Bibliopati (reading and lending), the Music Indi classroom, sports, games, and a garden. The music space has various instruments. For physical work, the Sala Blava hosts psychomotricity according to the Aucouturier method from P3 to 2nd grade, and from 3rd grade onwards, Physical Education is taught.

Regarding projects, the school has been part of the Magnet project since 2013. It maintains an alliance with Hospital Taulí, with which it develops health projects alongside professionals from the center and 5th-year medical students. It participates in the Missió Alba program, promoted by the Sincrotró Alba, with 5th and 6th-grade students, to enhance scientific thinking through energy laboratories. The Ara Art project, in partnership with Escola Illa, explores new artistic disciplines; the school considers art a means of learning, expression, and transformation. In relation to families, an active meeting is held at the beginning of the school year and two individual meetings during the year. For the transition to secondary education, the center has dual enrollment: students can choose between Institut El Vallès and Institut Ca n'Oriach, with priority access, and actions are carried out with students from these institutes.
