Escola Sant Roc - ZER Riu i Serra

Escola Sant Roc is part of the ZER Riu i Serra, a grouping of rural schools that includes the centers of Aldover, Benifallet, and Paüls. It is a publicly owned center located in Paüls, offering Early Childhood Education (first and second cycle) and Primary Education, with Catalan as the vehicular language.

Among the activities developed at the center, the students of the school have worked on the figure of the graffiti artist Shamsia Hassani and have built birdhouses by reusing milk cartons. Additionally, students from I1 to 1st grade participate in learning environments, a proposal that takes place on Tuesday afternoons and offers spaces with materials and challenges for free and creative learning. The children in Early Childhood Education have also planted sunflower seeds and have followed their growth in the school garden.

The ZER organizes joint activities among its three schools, such as the Trobada ZER, workshops by age groups, and musical projects. The students from the older class have participated in Cantània, a project of the Auditori de Barcelona, and in the XIII Jocs Florals Escolars de Cataluña, where they won in the prose category C1 and were finalists in poetry A2. Activities have also been conducted in the area of the English language, such as the Easter Egg Hunt, and activities in commemoration of the International Day Against LGTBIfobia.
