Joaquin Turina

The Joaquín Turina Professional Conservatory of Music is a public institution that depends on the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid and is located in the Tetuán district of Madrid. It offers elementary and professional music education in thirteen instrumental specialties: violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, flute, bassoon, oboe, horn, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, and piano.

Its facilities include the "Agustín Ramos" auditorium, a space where most of the concerts and events organized by the center take place. The artistic activity of the conservatory is intense and involves a direct relationship with the public; therefore, in addition to its own events, the center participates in the programming of various cultural institutions, aiming to enhance the artistic and educational experience of the students.

The educational project of the center prioritizes ensuring a healthy and safe environment for the educational community, promoting a climate of coexistence that encourages study, and stimulating participation in activities and in the life of the center. Methodological innovation in music education is a hallmark, exemplified in the Audiatur Project, which started in 2008 and is now a subject of two courses within the free time allocation. The conservatory is a benchmark for professional conservatories in the Community of Madrid among students in the northern area.
