About the school
CEIP Méndez Núñez is a public bilingual center for Early Childhood and Primary Education located in Madrid, in the Hortaleza district. With 55 years of history, it is defined as a small and family-oriented center, at a time of changes and new beginnings, with facilities that are continuously improving. It offers the second cycle of Early Childhood Education (3-6 years) and is bilingual in Spanish and English.
The main objective of the center is the emotional education of students as a foundation for building their learning. To achieve this, it has launched a TIC project with equipment acquired for the development of digital competence, transforming the way classes are taught. In addition, it participates in programs that promote coexistence such as MUS-E, which works on educational and social inclusion through art with the annual visit of an artist, and Responsible Education. The center has the involvement of families and has a Digital Center Plan for the 2025-2026 school year and an Educational Project that addresses attention to diversity, tutorial action, and the coexistence plan.
Furthermore, the center has implemented the Regional Plan against drugs of the Community of Madrid, with a system of reporting mailboxes (physical, electronic, and via QR code) to prevent and act in situations of risk.
