About the school

Private and secular educational center located in the Hortaleza district, in Madrid. Its origins date back to 1970, when Josefina González and María Altieri, friends and collaborators of María Montessori, moved to Spain to introduce this pedagogical methodology. They promoted the creation of the Spanish Montessori Association and the first Montessori center in the country. The school is defined as an official international center and offers early childhood education (first and second cycle), primary education, compulsory secondary education (ESO), and Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18), from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00.

Its project is supported by a small school with limited places, which allows for detailed knowledge of each student — their personality, qualities, limitations, or family circumstances — and adapting the work to their individual needs in a close and familiar environment. The center has specific programs for students with high abilities, for foreign students who do not know Spanish, for those who do not know French, for students coming from other schools who need reinforcement in English, and for elite athletes. English and French are present in its educational activities.

The admission process includes a personal interview with the family, without the need for the child to attend, in which the way of working at the center and how objectives are achieved are explained in detail. Families residing outside the country can conduct this interview via videoconference. The school also offers a summer camp open to both its own students and external students, with reinforcement in subjects and English, personalized activities, and games in the pool.
